PURPOSE: All organizations, whether they are a business, non-profit, volunteer or other type of organization relie on various members of the group to provide diverse categories of services. This holds true for the Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company (ATVFC).
While the obvious staffing needs of the Fire Co. are members who are ACTIVE RESPONDERS, there are numerous opportunities for others to become members who may not be interested in responding to emergencies. The ATVFC operates as a small business whose service is the protection of persons, property, and the environment within Athens Twp. and the surrounding area, and our customers are the residents and businesses within Athens Twp.
How can I help?
- Are you a “professional homeowner”, maybe with some DIY skills? There’s always minor repairs and small projects to do around the stations.
- Like photography? Photos and videos of incidents and training are a great resource for the Fire Co. You would be responding to actual calls, but may not be directly involved with the incident.
- Tinker with your lawns and gardens at home? Well we’ve got them around the station and they can always use attention.
- Want to get out and meet people, be a part of a team and have a good time. We would invite you to join and help with fundraising.
- Like to cook. Our kitchen is open every Tuesday during Bingo. We also do chicken bar-b-ques and in the past have done breakfasts and dinners as part of fundraising.
- Like to dabble in social media, we maintain a web page, Facebook page and Instagram page. We’re always looking to market our brand, so experience in advertising and marketing would be a great help
- Are you a good administrative type? Our Company Officers are always in need of assistance with reports, grant applications, keeping up with licenses we are required to have etc.
